Construction Update

As mentioned by Dr Cousins, Principal, in the Welcome Back communication in January, there will be continued renewal and rejuvenation of our campus throughout 2024, with the PMSA committing close of $10 million of capital investment!

Construction will include our new purpose-built Design Technology workshops and flexible learning spaces, refurbishment of our Visual Art rooms, complete overhaul of the Primary playground, and rejuvenation of the College pool and construction of a Learn to Swim pool.

We will keep our community regularly updated on the status of the construction works. We thank you all in advance for your patience while we work to deliver and navigate these exciting projects for our students and community.

Primary Playground

We are so excited to share with you that we will be beginning construction on the new Primary Playground on Monday 26 February. With the safety of our community at the forefront, we will have fences around the perimeter of the lower playground - Leopard Terrace. This will impact one of our walkways from the Amphitheatre to Primary Administration, and we kindly ask that you walk around the area on the other path. This may take an extra two to three minutes for those students who use the oval side of the Primary building. In terms of spaces to play at Morning Tea and Lunch, Palm Grove, the Oval, Year 6 area and the LRC will not be impacted, and staff will be working on a plan for students to play safely in these shared spaces.

For those of you who are new to our school this year or did not attend the 2023 Primary Presentation Day, please find a picture of one of the elements of our new playground below. In addition to this, we will be designing a new 'positions' area, constructing an interactive grassed area with tunnels, hills and interesting climbing apparatuses. Further underplanting in both Palm Grove and Leopard Terrace, with the addition of large trees for shade will complete the project.

We will be monitoring air quality throughout the project, for students and staff who may be affected by the building works.
