We belong, we shine!

We are very excited and honoured to be your Primary School Captains for this year! We cannot wait to lead our amazing Primary School into 2024 and we have so many fantastic things planned to share with you along the way.

Together, the three of us have chosen our theme and motto for this year. We are excited to announce that our Primary School Theme for 2024 is: We belong, we shine. We chose this theme because it combines our ideas which are: belonging, getting involved, creating connections and shining our lights bright in all ways. This year, our challenge to you is to get as involved as possible, because when we belong, we shine!

Who here has seen a tree before? We know how a tree has its roots, its branches, and its big bushy leaves at the top. Those elements are your steps to success. The roots of our Clayfield tree are inclusivity and friendship which are the tree's strong foundation. It’s what keeps the tree standing tall and thriving. The more we show inclusivity and friendship the stronger and sturdier our roots get. Then we have our branches which are being genuine and authentic. Being genuine and authentic means always be yourself. Always be kind and trustworthy. It also means being the best version of you that you can be. Some more of our Clayfield branches are striving for five acts of kindness each week, stepping out of your comfort zone and making new friends. The big bushy leaves on top are the overarching theme: We belong We shine.

Our goal is that Clayfield College continues to be a place where we can all grow and belong, where everyone in the Primary School feels as though they are part of the Clayfield College family.

 

We all play our part. And ways in which we can belong and help others feel they belong too, are by including and encouraging others, bravely making new friends and noticing when someone is feeling left out, joining clubs and showing pride in our school.

 

When we belong, we shine! 

So now is the time to ask yourself, how are YOU going to shine this year? Our challenge for you is to find new ways to let your light shine. Maybe this year you will aim to shine in the classroom and set yourself some new academic goals. Perhaps you will shine as a leader and be brave enough to put your hand up to be a Class Leader or a member of the SRC. Could this be the year that you sing in the choir for the first time, and shine on stage at Opus? Will you shine with kindness, by going out of your way to welcome a new student or help a friend in the playground? Maybe you will shine as you take part in the Interhouse Carnivals this year, by participating in as many races as you can to win points for your house. As captains, we cannot wait to support you and see all the amazing things we can achieve together as every single one of you shines bright in 2024!

We are excited to lead our Primary School this year and are sure that together, we can make 2024 the best year yet!
