From the Principal
Today is 2024 International Women’s Day and the theme is – ‘INSPIRE INCLUSION’
As mentioned in the Strategic Plan, here at Endeavour we have spoken a lot about inclusion, which is fantastic, but there is still work to be done.
We are living in a world that's incredibly turbulent, complex and exciting. Exciting because when we make positive change in our world, things get better.
In that light, the theme for the International Woman's Day this year focusses on a global request to #InspireInclusion, because when we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment. Societies and communities flourish when all women are given comparable opportunities to learn and lead.
This year’s International Women's Day theme has been a prompt for all educational leaders to reflect upon the role of women, and in our context, to consider more closely the obstacles and constrained choices many women experience on their journey.
As a College we ensure women and girls are valued and included by:
- recruiting, retaining and developing diverse talent
- supporting women and girls into leadership, decision-making, business and STEM
- involving women and girls in sustainable agriculture and trades
- providing women and girls with access to quality education and training
- celebrating women and girls' participation and achievement in sport
- promoting creative and artistic talent of women and girls
- addressing further areas supporting the advancement of women and girls
As school leader I respect and want to acknowledge the wonderful work, leadership, representation and contributions the women and girls in our community continuously bring to Endeavour College.
Have a great long weekend.
