Run Club

Students and parents are invited to take part in out weekly run club.

Walk/run as many laps of the school oval as you can from 8.10 - 8.30am every Friday morning. It's not a race, you set your own pace. Challenge yourself to better your lap count each week. Proudly wear your run club achievement badge for the day and encourage your friends to come along.

Just sign in at the gate on arrival and participate to the best of your ability.

New runners welcome. See Mr Epps if you have any questions.

Cricket

Congratulations to grade 5 twins Zanzibar and Zafari R who were recently awarded Kangaroo Flat Junior Cricket Club Junior Pro’s of the week. This award comes off the back of outstanding seasons so far in the under 11, highlighted by Zanzibar scoring 3 wickets with the ball and 33 with the bat and Zafari top scoring with 38 of 23 balls. Well done boys!

Athletics

Grade 5 athletes Alexis W and Thea H have showcased outstanding performances in athletics competitions across Regional Victoria. In a recent competition in Shepparton, Alexis secured 2nd place in the 100m, 200m, and hurdle events, while also clinching 1st place in the high jump and long jump. Meanwhile, Thea achieved 3rd place in the hurdles, 2nd in the triple jump, and triumphed in her favored event, the 1.1km walk. Thea's excellence persisted in Maryborough over the weekend, as she not only claimed victory in the 1.1km walk but also shattered the previous record with a time of 6.36 minutes. Keep up the great work girls!

Golden City Football Club is looking for new players.

We’re an inclusive, family friendly club and we are looking for players from all age levels and experience to play in our 2024 season starting in April. All are welcome!

We have all-girl teams at all age levels and around half of our juniors are female. We are looking for any junior players who would like to experience the World Game. Soccer is a great sport for boys and girls and the FIFA Women’s World Cup held recently in Australia and New Zealand has seen a wave of new participation in junior soccer across the Bendigo region. We support and encourage both men and women to be coaches and managers.

Our junior season starts after the Easter school break and runs for 16 weeks. Junior games are played on Saturday mornings on small-sided pitches with modified rules to make the games inclusive, engaging and fun. Training takes place once a week at our home ground, Shadforth Park, Fenton Street, North Bendigo.

You can register at https://registration.playfootball.com.au/common/pages/reg/WelcomeRegPlus.aspx?entityid=7336 . We are also having registration days at our clubrooms at Shadforth Park on Monday 26th Feb 4pm-6.30pm; Saturday 2nd March 10am-1pm; and Wednesday 6th March 4pm-6.40pm, where you can get assistance with registration and ask questions.
