Year 4 Cotton Excursion

Year 4 had the wonderful opportunity to learn all about one of Australia’s most important agricultural products...cotton. They were visited by two special representatives from Cotton Australia, Richard and Annette, who taught them about the journey of cotton from the paddock to the products we use every day. Students discovered how cotton is grown on farms, harvested, and transformed into many useful items, including the clothes we wear.

Following this, Year 4 travelled to the Carroll Cotton Gin. There, they saw the enormous cotton modules and learned how the cotton is processed and refined.

It was a fascinating and highly engaging learning experience, and the students thoroughly enjoyed seeing first-hand how cotton goes from the farm to everyday products.
