Principal's Message

“ Act Justly, Love Tenderly and Walk Humbly with our God.”
Jesus said He had come “that they might have life to the full”, so our staff seek to draw out our student’s gifts, address their challenges and enable them to experience the fullness of life. In our classrooms we provide authentic differentiation for students of all capabilities.
The Newton Navigators program is a virtual classroom designed specifically for talented Year 5 and 6 students across Armidale Catholic Schools. It is an extension program, meaning it focuses on enrichment material and mathematical concepts that go beyond the standard curriculum.
The curriculum utilises materials from the Australian Mathematics Trust, a renowned organisation dedicated to developing the skills of talented young mathematicians. Facilitated by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from ACS, the Newton division covers engaging topics such as:
- Advanced Arithmetic: Arithmetics in different bases and divisibility.
- Geometry & Logic: Polyhedra and colouring graphics.
- Patterns: Sequences and Fibonacci numbers.
- Problem Solving: Estimation and specific high-level problem-solving techniques.
We have had five students selected from our Stage 3 cohort. These students were selected based on data sets such as Naplan Maths and PAT Maths. This is a fabulous opportunity for our our students who have a particular interest and skillset in the Maths area.
Congratulations to Emili, Tom, Cody, Sophie and Eli who have been selected for the program this year.
Kind regards,
Jen
