From the Leadership Team

Dear GPS Community,

As we embark on Term 2, I would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to our new families who have recently joined us. We are delighted to have you become part of Greenwith Primary School, and I hope your transition has been seamless and filled with warmth from our community.

The start of the term has been alive with energy! Walking through our classrooms, I’ve been inspired by the buzz of learning and the enthusiasm shown by our students. From creative projects to vibrant discussions, the rich learning experiences unfolding in every corner of the school are a testament to the commitment of our staff and the curiosity of our young learners. It’s been a fantastic beginning, and I look forward to seeing this momentum continue.

We gathered for a special assembly to honour the bravery and sacrifice of our service men and women through our ANZAC Day ceremony. It was a moving event, beautifully coordinated by Deb Thompson. I want to express my gratitude to Deb, our student leaders who led heartfelt reflections, and Lisa Woods along with the choir for their powerful musical tribute. Together, we paused to remember, reflect, and celebrate the core values of mateship, courage, and respect.

I wish you all a wonderful Term 2.

Kind Regards

Darren

Payments for incursions, excursions, camps and SAPSASA events

At Greenwith Primary School, we are committed to providing all students with rich and engaging learning opportunities, both within and beyond the classroom.

Participation in incursions, excursions, camps and SAPSASA events plays a vital role in extending student learning and experiences. To ensure these opportunities can proceed as planned, it is essential that all payments or payment arrangements are finalised by the stated due date.

Due dates are clearly outlined in the EdSmart consent form, with reminder emails sent in the lead-up. Please note that late payments cannot be accepted under any circumstances.

Careful consideration is given when setting due dates to balance providing families with sufficient notice and meeting strict booking and payment deadlines required by external providers. When deadlines are not met, there is a significant risk of cancellations or increased costs, which can impact all students and families involved.

We appreciate your cooperation in supporting the smooth organisation of these valuable learning experiences.

Mid-Year Reports

Teachers have started working on putting together their mid-year reports for students. For families that had students enrolled at Greenwith Primary School in 2024, your access to your child’s report through the Sentral for Parents app would not have changed.

For new families and students, please ensure the Parents for Sentral app has been downloaded from your phone's app store. Your child’s access key would have been provided to you earlier this year and will need to be populated within the app to connect to your child’s profile. Please contact the school if you are encountering any problems with the Sentral for Parents app.

Reports will be released at 3:10pm on Wednesday 1st of July (Term 2, Week 10).

Attendance

In South Australia, all school children up to the age of 16 are required by law to attend school regularly. Everyday your child attends school counts, as regular attendance and being on time everyday helps students to:

  • develop a sense of belonging
  • develop and maintain friendships
  • be more engaged at school
  • progress with their learning
  • experience success at school

It is important that students develop habits of regular attendance at any early age, beginning from the time they are enrolled.

If your child is absent, please notify the school or class teacher of the reason for the absence through the Sentral app, email, or a phone call.
