From the Principal

Welcome

Dear Parents and Carers,

Remembrance Day

Myself and our 2025 college captains Alick Jarvis and Liliana Cirillo attended the Shepparton Remembrance Day service this week. Their first official duty as school captains was to lay a wreath on behalf of St Anne’s College.

Year 12 Exams

Our Yr 12 exams are nearing completion. I have to take my hat off to the Yr 12 students for the way they have handled the pressure of exams. It is a credit to the staff, families and the students themselves for their preparation and commitment to their studies. Please continue to keep the students in your thoughts and prayers during the final days of exams.

Stage 4A Construction

Plans are almost finalised for the new classroom building which will be constructed in 2025. The building will comprise of eight new classrooms and meeting rooms.  We hope the project will go to tender early next year.

School Structure

St Anne’s College is having some significant changes in 2025. ALL Sandhurst schools are implementing the new Magnify Learning and Teaching program. This new approach will bring significant changes in literacy, maths and science andteachers will be delivering an explicit, direct and consistent curriculum from Foundation to Yr 12. I am confident this will provide the students in our college with a first class education that will guide each and every student as they progress through the year levels.

The second major adjustment is the change from the current three-school model to a Primary (F-6) and Secondary (7-12) structure. This will require some thought as we restructure our Primary students into the following grades for 2025:

Foundation (2 classes)

Gr 1 (2 classes)

Gr 2 (2 classes)

Gr 3/4 (3 classes)

Gr 5 (1 class)

Gr 6 (2 classes)

School Uniform

For 2025 Gr 5/6 students will continue to wear the St Anne’s academic uniform. This will be phased out over the next two years and will be replaced by the current School Of Wonder uniform. It has also been decided that there will be a special Gr 6 shirt for students. Parents and carers will receive more information about this soon.

Yr 8 & 9 Camps

It is an exciting time for our Year 8 and 9 students who are off for on camps in the coming weeks. The Yr 8 students are off to Harrietville and the Yr 9 students are heading to the beach at Anglesea. Have fun everyone!

Art Exhibition

The St Anne’s College Art Exhibition is taking place on Tuesday 26 November. Artwork from across the school will be on display and all family and friends are welcome to attend. The exhibition will be open from 3pm - 5:30pm.

Christmas Concert

Don’t forget to save the date for the St Anne’s Christmas concert on 4 December. It is going to be a great afternoon!

Early Commencement

Our Yr 10 and 11 students will begin two weeks of early commencement on completion of their exams at the end of November. We wish them all the best as they step up into Yr 11 & 12!
