Loud Shirt Day
The Junior School Council is proud to present their Annual Loud Shirt Day event which will be held on Friday 18th October.
We encourage students to 'Wear It Loud' that day by wearing either a loud shirt, socks or hat. By wearing their whackiest shirt, hat or socks, students will not only paint the school in colour but also raise much-needed awareness and funds for children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Please bring your Gold Coin donation on the day which will help children who are deaf. If families would like to support Wembley in their fundraising, they are able to use the following link to make their donation- https://support.nextsense.org.au/fundraisers/annakikidis/loud-shirt-day
Thank you Wembley. Wear it Loud!
2025 Class Formation Process: Circle of Friends
As we commence Term 4, we also begin our end of year processes, including the start of 2025 class formations.
During the next two weeks, beginning Monday 14 October, students will have the opportunity to nominate 5 students who they would like to have in their class in 2025. This is an opportunity for them to have authentic agency within our class allocation process, and we ask for students and families to think carefully about other students they would like to be placed with, considering those they work well with and have positive relationships with.
We aim to ensure that each student will be placed in a 2025 class with at least one of their choices. It is often helpful for parents to discuss this selection process with their children prior to students completing their circle of friends. This helps to ameliorate any crossover when it comes to student preference versus parent preference.
We understand that this may appear early to consider this, however our planning requires us to begin class formations to plan for student handover in advance and finalise our staffing/workforce plan.
Should parents have further information around your child's learning needs or classroom placement for 2025, that your child's teacher is not aware of, please put this in writing for consideration by Friday 25 October. Please email any information to the school email account, wembley.ps@education.vic.gov.au and address to the 'Principal class team'. Please state your child's name and year level for 2025. Your email will be acknowledged as received and the information that you provide will be taken into consideration.
Our teachers are committed to creating an environment where your child can thrive and reach their full potential. We appreciate your trust in our knowledge and judgement when it comes to selecting the most suitable class for your child's learning needs.
¡Viva Spanish Day! A Cultural Celebration to Remember
On the 18th of September, our school came alive with the festive vibes of Spanish Day! From the delicious freshly made churros to the lively cultural dance performances and amazing costumes, students fully immersed themselves in a day dedicated to celebrating the richness of Spanish language and culture.
The event featured engaging workshops, exciting activities, and a thrilling teachers vs. students soccer match, where our students gave it their all in a friendly competition. A special shout-out goes to the teachers and students who made the day unforgettable!
We are proud of how our students embraced the festivities with enthusiasm and respect, showcasing the values of community and cultural appreciation. A huge thank you to the parent volunteers and staff who made this day possible. We look forward to more events that bring us together in celebrating diverse cultures.
¡Gracias a todos!
