PRINCIPAL UPDATE
We are very excited for the Art Show this Thursday and Friday. The student artwork is outstanding, testament to them and to Art teacher Deb Fisher. We look forward to seeing families down at Rebecchi's (formerly Boom Gallery) Friday evening.
Thank you very much to the Grade 6 Social Services Committee and Mylea Adams in the coordination of the ‘Shine Blue for Sids’ day last Thursday. We raised $1275.00 for the River’s Gift foundation, raising much needed funds for research into Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming our new Prep students for 2025 this Friday for their first transition session. Prep teachers for 2025 will be Mylea Adams, Britt Hercus along with Laura Stephenson and Nikki Robertson.
Congratulations to Elise Hultgren, Emily Angliss and Meegan Baker who have had their contract extended.
We would also like to welcome Cassie Chappell and Katelyn Pistikakis who have been successful in obtaining 12-month contracts here.
Educational Support staff Eloise Ritchie, Jenny O’Brien, Logan Hockley, Abbey Chapman, Tayla Spedding along with Abbey Grimaud have also been successful in a further 12-month contract.
We have also appointed Brodie Saunal to the French teacher position.
Cathy Burns has been granted 12 months leave for 2025, and Jason Cole has been successful in obtaining the position of Engagement and Wellbeing Leader for the year. Kim Hamilton is taking the first term Long Service Leave.
Jordan Osborne has accepted a position lecturing in Health at Deakin University.
We will farewell him at the conclusion of the school year.
Staff engaged in learning about the revised Vic Curriculum 2.0 that is being rolled out next year on the Curriculum Day this week. A lot of work was done around what this will look like in our classrooms, the scope and sequence of learning and the changes to phonics education. It was a great day, and well received by all with in depth discussion and questioning.
Kind regards,
Meg
