Principal's Report

Report from our Principal: Duncan Arendse

Dear Parents, Friends and Father Arsenio,

I want to begin by thanking our staff who have recently taken students on camp. Given that the 5/6 students went in week one and our 3/4 students over the past two weeks, it has been a busy period. We often don't get to pick the camp timing and we are at the mercy of the venue (especially the zoo). I appreciate the staff members willingness to assist in making all of these events memorable for our students. I especially want to acknowledge Caeleigh's hard work in preparing and organising all of these activities.

Melissa Barrett has informed me that she is taking up a new position with VCEA. As a result this Friday (25/10) will be her last day. I am advertising for her replacement and will keep you apprised of the results. The letter regarding fees for 2025 will still be sent next week and I am happy to deal with an queries that result from this.

Arianna Chor (year 6), Kellie Grace (year 5) and Maddy Cadzow have informed me also that they will not be returning next year. Arianna has taken an exciting new role overseas and Kelly a position at a school closer to home. I want to thank all three for their service to our school and wish them well. As a result I have employed Kirsty Purcell from SPJE, Mooroolbark, Ashleigh Griggs from Croydon Hills Primary School and Elouise Kerr from St Clement of Rome.

I am not sure if our students or grandparents are looking forward more to Grandparents Day on Monday. Please feel free to let your parents / grandparents know about parking arrangements and traffic flow rules for drop off on Monday morning. Parents are welcome to attend of course.

In conjunction with our school advisory council I am reviewing student leadership at our school. We aim to review and rewrite our policy and procedures. If you would like to be involved please let me know.

Lastly my thanks to Katherine D'Aloisio who presented a school readiness talk to 3yo families this week at Ellie V. Pullin preschool. If you think your local preschool would benefit from a similar talk please let Katherine or I know.

Have a great week,

Duncan
