CAFE Club (Community and Family Engagement Club)

In 2025, we are excited to introduce the CAFE Club as an evolution of how we engage with our school community. We are excited to have been selected as a pilot school to implement this new approach, further strengthening our connection with families.

While the P&F Association has traditionally focused on fundraising and formal meetings with a defined executive structure, the CAFE Club shifts the focus toward fostering meaningful connections and engagement. Our meetings will centre around conversations on curriculum, student wellbeing and community-building activities. Though fundraising remains an option, it will not be the primary function of the CAFE Club. Instead, our aim is to enhance school and family partnerships in ways that are responsive to the community’s needs and where all families feel welcomed and involved.

The CAFE Club replaces the existing P&F structure. At the upcoming meeting we will share the CAFE model with you.

As we begin to prepare for 2025, if your child is not returning to St Margaret Mary’s school in 2025, please send an email to stmargaretmarys@parra.catholic.edu.au . It is a government requirement that the school is informed of the new school the child will be attending.

Year six parents do not need to send an email.

Supervision

School supervision begins at 8.10 am until 3.30 pm each day. We ask that students are dropped off from 8.10 am onwards and not before. When dropping students off, please take careful note of the parking notices and crossing areas around our school. Your child’s safety and the safety of all our students is paramount.

Afternoon Car Pick-Up

Traffic Around the

Just a reminder about the corner of Henson Street & Davies Street. The following picture indicates an issue around the safety of our community. Practices for Afternoon Car Pick-Up at StMM's

We have been informed by Police & the Parking Patrol Officers of the Holroyd Area that we only have control of StMM’s school block on Henson Street.

This means the following:

  •  We will aim to start Car Pick-Up at 3.00pm
  • The only dedicated Car Pick-Up queue is the length of the school block in Henson Street
  • Joining this queue must be done following all road and traffic rules including signage
  • Parents/Carers are now able to join the Car Pick-Up queue via Davies Street & Henson St
  • Ensure they give way correctly taking into account all signs & road rules
  • Cars that are lined up across from the school block in Henson Street will be booked. The police view this as double parking

Aspects to follow for Car Pick-Up

  • Stagger your arrival between 3.00pm and 3.30pm
  • Have your number visible for the teacher to call
  • Remain calm and patient at all times
  • Adults to remain in cars
  • Car boots are not be open, bags are to be placed inside the car.
  • Follow all road rules
