Dear Parents and Carers,
It was lovely to see the students return to school last week with their beautiful smiles and celebrating our feast day. Term four is a busy term with some great events taking place. Following are the dates for term four, as well as the commencement dates for 2025. Please place these in your calendars so you are able to join us for the various activities. I particularly draw your attention to our Carols by Twilight on Thursday 5th December at 5pm. All students will be involved in this event and it will be a beautiful community event.
In the next couple of weeks, we will welcome our new kindergarten families at our orientation meeting and our 2025 kindergarten students. We are looking forward to meeting the future generation of teachers, doctors, lawyers, scientists, electricians, plumbers, builders, mathematicians, artists, musicians, creative thinkers, philosophers and professions that are yet to be created. Kindergarten 2025 will graduate from St Margaret Mary’s in 2031 and from year 12 in 2037.
As we celebrate World Teachers' Day, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the extraordinary commitment our staff makes—not just during school hours but well beyond. While we often see the impact of their work in the classroom and in the front office, much of their dedication happens behind the scenes.
Countless hours after devoted in preparing lessons, marking assessments, and planning activities that enrich the student's learning. They attend professional development sessions, collaborate with colleagues, and spend time reflecting on how to create the best learning experiences for each student. Their passion for education doesn't stop when the bell rings and their goal is to see every child succeed.
This World Teachers' Day, on behalf of the staff, I want to express our thanks to our Parents and Friends (P&F) Association, Mrs Wendy Ndaira and the parents for the lovely lunch they provided. Your generosity made this day special, showing us how valued and appreciated we are by the whole school community.
Thank you to our staff for their tireless efforts and to the P&F for your support in celebrating our hard work.
As we navigate our way to the end of the year, let us make an effort to be positive with one another and to build others up with kindness, compassion, and respect.
Kind Regards,
Grace
