WORLD TEACHER'S DAY FRIDAY OCTOBER 25

We are incredibly fortunate at POPS to have such a dedicated and caring staff team. Our teaching staff are committed to guiding, supporting, challenging, and nurturing every student in our school. On a daily basis I witness how our teaching staff step in at just the right moment, whether it's to offer a word of encouragement, lend a listening ear, or give a gentle nudge in the right direction.

As Principal, I am deeply proud to witness how all our staff, ensure that every student feels seen, valued, and supported each day. Their care, patience, and dedication are truly inspiring, and their positive impact on our students is undeniable. It’s evident that the well-being of each student is central to everything they do.

In a time when teaching presents more challenges than ever, we are privileged to have such a remarkable team. I am profoundly grateful for our teachers at POPS and their tireless commitment, and I know that together, we are making a lasting difference in the lives of our students. Their efforts continue to shape the future of our school, and for that, I cannot thank them enough.

If you see your child's teacher and any member of our staff, please take the time to acknowledge the wonderful work they do with our students.

TOMORROW - WORKING BEE 3:45- 5:00pm

We will hold a Working Bee tomorrow afternoon, Friday October 25. If you are free to lend a hand for a short time after school it would be most appreciated. It is a great community building activity and brings students and families together.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Kinder

At POPS, we are focused on strengthening our engagement with the broader community. On Wednesday, our School Captains, Jeyda and Josh, along with Vice Captains, Imaan and Tom, visited the Park Orchards three year old kinder group. It was a wonderful experience interacting with both the staff and the children.

Grandparents' morning tea

Today, I had the pleasure of connecting with many of our Foundation students' grandparents, who visited the classrooms and enjoyed morning tea. The grandparents shared stories about their own school days, while the students proudly showed them around. A big thank you to Mrs Allegretto and Ms McRae for organising such a special event - an experience both the students and their grandparents will treasure.

Aussie of the month

On Monday, October 28, we will hold our Aussie of the Month Assembly, where a Year 1 student will receive the award. This student-led assembly will also feature a guest speaker from the local community. We encourage parents to attend and watch our wonderful Student Representative Members as they facilitate and lead the event.

DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE! Thursday 14 November-7pm

The whole school concert is coming up very soon. A Compass post with booking details will be sent tomorrow when ticket sales go live at 10am.

PLANNING FOR 2025

If your child will be leaving at the end of the year, please let us know in writing as soon as possible.

If you have specific social, emotional, or learning requests or things for us to consider when placing your child in a class, please email me by Friday November 8. Please be aware that we do not take requests for teachers.
