Year 8 Maths
Our Year 8 students have been collecting data from shooting basketballs, tossing bean bags, counting cars and running laps to deepen their understanding of rates and ratios. They predicted what the data might look like and then compared it to the actual recorded data. They will be able to figure out who is the best basketball shooter in the class, as well as which colour car is most popular in Beaumaris.
They will apply their understanding of rates and ratios in their upcoming PBL - Around the World. They will be calculating time zone differences, speeds of planes and other modes of transport, exchange rates, and creating a budget in order to plan a holiday to a destination of their choice.
