Sustainability in Action
SUSTAINABILITY NEWS - WEEK 3
We have made a great start with our Sustainability Program this term at John Paul II.
GRADE 5/6 & PREP BUDDIES
Each week small groups of Grade 5/6 students from Miss Green’s class have worked with their buddies on a number of Sustainability projects. The children have created their own sustainability name tags using recycled wood and boot laces. They have planted broad beans, garlic and also potted up some strawberry plants. Great teamwork!
REVAMPING OUR VEGGIE GARDENS
Children from Year 5/6 helped to weed, dig over, manure and add mulch to our garden beds. Grade 4 then followed up with planting lots of new veggies that will be used in our lunch program cooking at John Paul II. The children planted garlic, kale, broad beans, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, pak choi and lettuce. Great work by all who have participated.
Lots of exciting things are happening in the Sustainability Program.
