Last Day of Term 2

Police Presentation

The college has be fortunate enough to secure a time for Senior Constable Andrew Downes to address Years 7-10, this Thursday. Students will have the opportunity to listen to Constable Downes experiences while in the Force, hearing about the realities of law and how it pertains to their lives. Constable Downes aims to deliver information that is relative and supportive in empowering young people to make informed decisions throughout their lives.

Broader Horizons Careers Program

Year 9 students have done well to get all of their Work Experience forms returned, ready to commence their first session of experience with Broader Horizons! Students will be participating in one of the following industry areas – Agriculture, Health, or Local Government.

Students have selected the industry they would like to participate in, with the first session this Wednesday, with the other two on Wednesday, Week 10 (19th June) and Wednesday, Week 11 (26th June). A reminder that session times will be from 1:30pm to 3:10pm, with students returning to school in time for buses.

With Julie Bourke popping into Year 9 Advisory the morning of their first session, I know that students will be set up to have an absolute blast while out in the field, for the industry of their choice!

VET Taster Day

With the Year 9 VET Taster Day approaching, we want to thank parents and students for having the important conversations around subject selections. With students being equipped with the conversations and necessary knowledge, the process of selecting subjects has been a breeze - all Year 9 students have their selections in!

A reminder that the Taster Day will be next week, June 13th. Year 10s will still go to their usual VET classes. With the Year 9s sampling subjects, hearing speakers and receiving other important information, I'm sure they will be knackered by the end of the day but full of excitement for the following year.

Students are to wear attire appropriate for their subjects (similar to what they would wear for their TRADE days). If any parents or students have any questions regarding the day, please contact Jade Nicholls or Natasha Saunders.
