Year 1 Sapphires

Year 1 Sapphires have been lucky to have Mr Jacobs and Solina from the UNE come in for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) activities. We have been learning about building strong structures to support weight. We made grabbers using some of our new knowledge. This learning continued during classroom maths lessons where we looked at balancing numbers as well as weight distribution. After listening to Who Sank the Boat? by Pamela Allen, we had a problem to solve, using the story characters and a boat that was designed and made by our group members.

Lunchtime Soccer

Before roll-over, Junior School were enjoying lunchtime soccer run by Mrs Tobler. Unfortunately, playground duty changes meant that she was no longer able to do this. Two senior boys, Jack Vanry and Toby Wilson rose to the challenge and agreed to run the lunchtime session for the juniors. They were aided by Yr 8 boys, Jackson Davison and William Maskell.  Well done boys!
