Year 3 Reconciliation Retreat Day

Our Parish is blessed with the presence of a Schoenstatt Shrine, nestled in the Armadale hills. The shrine is a place of pilgrimage and prayerful tranquility, offering a spiritual oasis amid life’s burdens. The Schoenstatt family honours the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the community of sisters at the shrine offer a prayerful witness of charity for all in our Parish and beyond.

Our Year 3 students annually visit this Shrine as a part of their Religious Education curriculum.

The theme for one of the activities during the visit this week, was related to the Good Shepherd story.

Students are taught that Jesus is their Good Shepherd. In John 10:11, Jesus makes this powerful promise – I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. This page lists the lessons and learning activities to help you teach this important truth to children.

A visit to the Shrine itself, Sister Lisette teaches students how to recognise themselves as important, individuals who are considered the most special to God.

Warm regards,

Mrs Christine Pitman
