Hi families,
Happy Week 7, the term is flying by! One more event to come in the last week of school, we will have our "Bake Sale/Makers Market". In keeping with our economy/money/career focus in classrooms, students will be preparing for this day over the next few weeks. I know a few are busy already getting their ideas and starting to plan. More information will follow in announcements, keep an eye out!
Since our last newsletter we've had Careers Expo morning, school photo day and World Blood Cancer Day. I was blown away by the generosity of our school community for Brooke and her family, we raised a total of $290 & $100 fuel voucher. For this we say a huge thank you!!!
We had a combined staff meeting with Hesket PS last week where we completed a joint Writing Moderation assessment, providing invaluable input into our Literacy focus for 2024. It was great to work closely with HPS, something we look forward to continuing! Our work in this space will continue on the Curriculum Day (June 11th) following the long weekend.
Tomorrow we have our SWPBS Assembly with the school being presented with a "Special Award" from 3:00pm. We hope to see you there!
As the colder months begin, please take the time to consider what your child/ren are wearing as they come to school. We are proud to be at NPS, therefore we take pride in our school colours. There are plenty of options available from EduThreads, or second hand at the office. We've even now added a warmer jacket to the collection (see below) for those cold months coming up.
We understand not everyone can access the 'official' uniform for various reasons, however it is essential our colours are represented in student dress. Please consider either plain black or red jumpers and jackets, as opposed to team colours or those with large logos.
According to our policy, the Student Dress Code aims to:
- Foster a sense of community and belonging and encourages students to develop pride in their appearance.
- Support Newham Primary School’s commitment to ensuring that our students feel equal and are dressed safely and appropriately for school activities.
- Reduce student competition on the basis of clothing.
- Enhance the profile and identity of the school and its students within the wider community.
We ask that every student values "UNITY" in our school and demonstrates that in dressing as an equal in our community.
Come and join us in our Foundation/1 class to get comfy, read a story and experiene school life. This is open to ANY families in the community, not just NPS families. Please help us spread the word!
School Council has approved new items to be added to our uniform list for NPS. We will offer a new black softshell jacket, embroided with 'Newham' in red lettering. This will be helpful during those cold Winter months.
We have a size 10 Jacket that you can see antry on at the office.
As well as this, a red cotton long sleeve undergarment, to be worn underneath polo/regular school shirt (not as solo item).
We have a size 6 & 12 red top that you can see and try on at the office.
These will be available through eduthreads, and the QRcode is below. Or you can just go to the Eduthreads website and choose our school.
Please note these are NOT compulsory items
