Happy Week 7! A few reminders, considerations and to do’s for the week ahead.

Secondary Toilets: Rooms 16-18, congratulations on a successful move into a new space. Please ensure your students continue to utilise the MSS toilets. You have the option of the toilets next to the old Art Room, or the toilets at the back of Room 10. The Secondary toilets are to remain for Secondaries only- this is to ensure safety for our MSS students.

Classroom Walls: It has been noted that a few classrooms have walls/cupboards that have been written on using permanent markers, pencils and so on. If this is the case, please either remove this yourself, or log it on maintenance to be removed.Should you wish to record student heights, please utilise tape, and reinforce the message to students that we are not to write or draw on the walls.

Toilet Cleanliness & Supervision: It has been noted by Manuel that there have been students urinating on the floors in the toilet cubicles. Please ensure when supervising students to go to the toilet that you double check prior to leaving that there have been no spills. We want to ensure the toilets remain a clean and safe environment for students.

MSS Assemblies

A reminder that the Week 8 assembly is due by Thursday 6th June for Rooms 14 & 17.

Excursions

Term 3 excursion forms must be submitted by Wednesday 29th May to allow for adequate time for feedback to be given, and for these to be submitted.

A gentle reminder that heading into this term we have excursions taking place- please ensure you remain on top of the excursion to do list ahead of time. Be sure permission has been given by parents, the activity locator lodged and transport as well as staffing considered. I urge you to touch base with both myself and the admin staff in the weeks leading up to the excursion to ensure you have a second set of eyes over documentation, and a sounding board to assist in planning and coordination of the excursion.

Tier 1 Feedback & Coaching

Thank you to everyone for having me in your classrooms to audit the environmental structures. I hope you were able to come away having identified some of the positives with regards to the way you have set up your classrooms to ensure a clutter free, sensory friendly environment. Similarly, that you also came away with actions, or possible improvements that could be made to make the space even more inviting for students, and conducive to learning.

Next up, we will be providing feedback on work programs and practice, with a focus on addressing student goals.

PLC & Professional Learning

There will be no PLC or PL in Weeks 5-7 due to SSG’s. PLC’s will recommence in Week 8.

SSG’s

SSG’s should be well under way. A reminder to send me a quick email, or calendar invitation if you would like for me to attend.

All minutes should be uploaded within a week of the SSG occurring. Please note that the agendas are preloaded onto SharePoint, meaning you don’t have to write these out by hand, or save them to your own laptop.

IEP’s and Report Writing

A mock report should have been submitted to SSL’s on Monday. If you have not already done so, please do so ASAP.

Attitudes to School Survey

As per the briefing provided during PLC, the Attitudes to School survey is ready to be conducted with your students. This can be completed as part of your teaching and learning work program.

Have a wonderful week everyone!
