Year 5 Social Gathering: A Night of Community and Celebration
On Saturday 15 June, the Year 5 community came together for a wonderful evening of camaraderie and celebration at the Briars Club. The event saw an impressive turnout, with 31 families gathering to enjoy each other’s company over a delightful meal.
The Briars Club provided a perfect backdrop for the gathering, with its welcoming atmosphere and excellent facilities ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone. Parents/carers and children alike took the opportunity to connect, share stories, and strengthen the bonds within our school community.
The success of the evening was largely thanks to the hard work and dedication of Jaslyn Hewitt-Shehadie, who meticulously organised the event. Her efforts ensured everything ran smoothly, from coordinating the venue and menu to managing the invitations and RSVPs. The positive feedback from attendees is a testament to her outstanding organisation and commitment.
Throughout the night, laughter and conversations filled the air, creating a warm and inclusive environment. Children enjoyed playing together, forging new friendships, while parents appreciated the chance to catch up and relax in a friendly setting. The shared meal was a highlight, offering a variety of delicious options that catered to all tastes and preferences.
Events like these are invaluable in fostering a sense of community within our school. They provide opportunities for families to connect outside of the usual school routines and create lasting memories. The Year 5 social gathering was a shining example of this, and we are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to making it a memorable night.
Once again, a heartfelt thank you to Jaslyn Hewitt-Shehadie for her exceptional organisation and to all the families who joined us. Your participation and enthusiasm are what make our community so special. We look forward to many more such gatherings in the future.
A Heartfelt Thank You for a Memorable Barbeque
Despite the less-than-ideal weather on Saturday, the spirit of our school community shone brightly as families, friends, and staff came together for a fantastic barbeque event. The unpredictable weather could not dampen our enthusiasm or the sense of togetherness that defined the day.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who attended and helped make the barbeque a resounding success. Your presence and support are what make events like these so special and memorable.
A special thank you goes out to the dedicated team of volunteers who braved the elements to ensure everything ran smoothly:
Madhavi Gupta | Joanna Crisafulli |
Lina Bartorilla | Janet Tannous |
Caroline Chahin | Damian Bridge |
Lynette Trainor | Guy Piccin |
Kathy Jeitani | Renata Meleo |
Gabriella Costa | Daniela Giannini |
Natasha Caristo | Antoinette Nader |

Your hard work and commitment were truly inspiring, and the event would not have been the same without your invaluable contributions. From setting up the barbeque to serving food and cleaning up, each of you played a crucial role in making the day a success.
A special mention must also go to Gemma Donnegan, whose incredible baking added a sweet touch to the day. Gemma baked 100 delicious scones, banana bread, and coconut and lime cake, and not a single piece was left by the end of the event. Thank you, Gemma, for your generosity and for sharing your wonderful baking talents with us. Your treats were a hit and brought smiles to many faces.
Once again, thank you to everyone who participated and helped. Your enthusiasm, despite the challenging weather, demonstrated the strong and supportive community we are fortunate to have. We look forward to many more events where we can come together and create lasting memories.
Have a beautiful week.
Your Parents and Friends committee.
