Cross Country
This term, we are hosting a ‘Run to Play’ Primary School Cross Country event. This will take the place of our regular Colour Explosion Cross Country event. Traditionally we have used this event to raise funds for a cause, this year we are excited to be fundraising for new playground equipment for our Primary School.
The ‘Run to Play’ Primary School Cross Country event will be held on Monday 31st of March from 9am to 11am.
Is the powder safe? The non-toxic colour powder is made of high-quality corn starch and permitted food colours, so it’s safe for skin and eyes.
Choosing to be covered in colour powder is completely optional. After every race, students will have a chance to rest and rehydrate before choosing to head over to the colour station.
How do we fundraise?
We are excited to announce that this year we are raising funds to purchase new play equipment for our Primary School. Donations can be made via TryBooking - use the following link to donate:

Parents and caregivers, your generous donations—no matter the size—are incredibly appreciated! Thank you for your ongoing support and investment in creating a Primary School where our students can engage in playful exploration.
Parent Race
We’d love to have as many parents and friends come along to spectate the races. There will be multiple spectator areas which will be marked on the day. This year there is also a parent race to kick our event off. Parents of all running abilities are welcome to run three laps of the top oval.
Ribbons will be awarded separately for male and female athletes. For students 10 years and older, those who finish in the top 10 in their gender and age group qualify for the first round of Interschool cross country competition. Last year we had such a great response from the MECS community regarding our fundraising efforts. I am looking forward to seeing what we can do this year!
