Year 9 Humanities Fieldwork

Year 9 students have been engaging in fieldwork and research across MECS and our immediate context of the Olinda Creek catchment. As you may know we are situated within a temperate forest biome. But within this there is much variation. Students have been gathering data regarding differences and similarities across three sites and then analysing both this primary source data and secondary research to better understanding these variations and the reasons for these. They will produce a formal fieldwork report to document their data and observations, analysis, test our hypothesis, draw conclusions and reflect on this process and their geographic learning. As we better understand our immediate environment we become more aware of what it is to be ‘God’s caretakers’ of this place.
