Lenton Season - Week 2
Good afternoon everyone. I hope you all had a lovely long weekend.
NAPLAN commenced this week for students in grades 3 and 5 with Writing on Wednesday and Reading today. Next week will be language on Tuesday 18th and Numeracy on Thursday 20th. If you can avoid making appointments for your gr 3 or 5 child on those mornings we would appreciate it.
Thursday was a busy day with the Regional swimming team (Molly, Jenna, Rachael, Makenzi and Hunter) heading off to the Sale Aquatic Centre to compete against other schools in our region and the Sacrament of First Reconciliation was held at St Joseph's in Korumburra. We congratulate the following children: George, Harlow, Lukah, Saylor, Jake, Charlotte, Elijah, Finn, Knox & Oscar.
We have school photos on Friday 21st March. Photographers have a fixed schedule for getting classes through on the day and I ask you please not ask any of the staff to rearrange our schedule to suit your needs. If your child/ren are unwell, I also ask that you do not bring in your sick child so they can be in a class photo or have a portrait taken. I understand that this is unfortunate and disappointing however, the protection of our school community and the photographers come first.
This is a timely reminder that if your child has been vomiting or has diarohea, children must stay home until it has been 24hours (preferably 48hours) since their last eposide. Again, we want to keep our school community safe. Please be respectful if considering sending unwell children to school. It is best to keep them home as they won't be at their best for learning and can put other students and their families and teachers at risk.
It is exciting to announce that the Annual Easter Raffle is up and running. This is a major fundraiser for our P & F. To assist in keeping costs down, we are asking families, if you can, to donate an easter item that could go into our hampers for prizes. We would appreciate your support.
This year, families can either purchase single tickets at $2 each or the book at $20 payable on CDFpay. We do ask that you please not return filled out tickets that have not been paid for via CDFpay.
The raffle will be drawn after the Easter Liturgy on the last day of Term, Friday 4th April.
After the raffle draw we will have open classrooms for parents and family to visit. Once the bell has gone we are proposing rounding off the day with a shared lunch on the oval/environmental area. More detailed information will go home soon.
If you are able to start thinking about whether you can offer assistance to be on the roster for hot lunch Fridays during terms 2 and 3 for about an hour and a half, we would appreciate your help. There are 2 people on these duties, so you wouldn't be by yourself. Also, a great opportunity to meet other parents. Please let the office know and we will pass onto the P & F.
Thank you for your support—together, we have the power to make a lasting impact!
