Student News

Over the last two weeks I had the pleasure of accompanying members of our student cohort to visit two local community playgrounds, who had been invited to consult on how to make the playgrounds more accessible and inclusive for all.

We visited South Surrey Park Playground and Grovedale Park Playground.

It was a great opportunity for our students to discuss what they like and dislike about our school playground and then generate some ideas that they would like to see in the community playgrounds. Here are some of the thoughts from our students below:

  • 'It was fun and happy at the playground, I like the slide, seesaw, swing, monkey bars and rock climbing' - Michael

  • 'It was great to learn about other people's job' - Livian

  • 'The last playground we visited we couldn't even get in' - Mary

  • 'Bad' - Rafael

  • 'I didn't like the last one, we couldn't get in' - Ryan
