Principal's Update

It has been a fantastic start to the year, and I sincerely appreciate the support provided by our dedicated staff, enthusiastic students, and the broader local community. The first few weeks have been incredibly busy, but they have given me valuable time to begin understanding the rich culture of Catholic College Sale. It has been inspiring to see how the Marist and Sion charisms are reflected not only in the school's physical artefacts but are truly alive in the words and actions of our students and staff.

Year 12 and Year 7 Camps

The term commenced with our Year 12 retreats, which I had the pleasure of attending at both the Coonawarra and Gelantipy sites. The sense of connection and community at each retreat was remarkable, reinforcing our Year 12 students' sense of leadership and responsibility within the College. Meanwhile, our Year 7 camps provided an invaluable opportunity for students and staff to forge friendships, understand College expectations, and embrace the Marist and Sion charisms. I also attended the Year 7 camp at Phillip Island, where I witnessed firsthand the enthusiasm and engagement of our students. The three-day experience was a great success, with the fluorescent disco emerging as a standout highlight! Additionally, we held our Welcoming Mass, where new Year 7 students were ceremonially welcomed to the College and rung in by the original Sion bell.

Commissioning Mass

A deeply personal highlight for me was my Commissioning Mass, presided by Bishop Greg and attended by dignitaries from the Marist, Sion, and Diocese of Sale communities. It was both humbling and an immense privilege to be officially welcomed into the Catholic College Sale community. I eagerly look forward to working alongside students, parents, and staff in the years ahead to ensure that our community continues to be strong of mind, gentle of heart, and loved by God.

Master Plan Update

Exciting developments are on the horizon for our College! We have received planning permission for the development of a new training restaurant at the former O’Neils Restaurant site, which is set to open at the beginning of 2026. Additionally, we will be expanding our Food Technology facilities by adding a new classroom to the old hospitality kitchen in the Marian Centre. Further, the College is committed to renovating the St Patrick’s classrooms on the west wing of the building, with work scheduled to begin in 2026. These projects reflect our ongoing commitment to providing outstanding learning environments for our students.

Once again, I extend my gratitude to our staff, students, and families for the warm welcome I have received. I am truly excited about the journey ahead and look forward to sharing many more successes with our College community.

God Bless
