Library Leaders 2025
Grade 6 : Tiana P, Amber R, Sebastian N, Tharush A, Heather P, Chloe Ng
Grade 5: Olive C, Ella F, Gaurav H, Jarryd J, Emily W, Mia V
2024 was the first year we introduced Library Leaders at Resurrection school and it was a great initiative. This gives student a voice, boosts their confidence levels and builds their social and leadership skills. Library Leaders worked in teams with planning and problem solving.
This year we are very excited to have 12 Library Leaders for 2025.
All grade 5 & 6 students were invited to apply for this position and 12 students were selected for this role.
The Library Leaders meet on Mondays. They assist with planning and promoting library events throughout the year, reply to letters they receive from classes (see sample letter) and contribute to the school newsletter.
We hope that this will continue in the future with new leaders chosen each year.
Ms Fowler/ Mrs Curtin/ Mrs Hall
Words from our Library Leaders:
Hi, my name is Sebastian. I am in year 6.
Being a Library Leader is so exciting, we get to plan and organise fun and interesting displays in the library. Every Monday we get to do fun jobs like writing this letter. We even get to answer letters that the rest of the school write to us. We get to buy books for the library and plan for interesting displays.
Hi, my name is Tharush. I am in year 6.
I am also a Library Leader and I am proud to be chosen. There are so many fun jobs to do for example, the Book Fair, organising books and helping with National Simultaneous Story time. There is so much more to come…..
Hi My name is Ella and I am a year 5 student.
I am very proud to be chosen as a 2025 Library Leader. For the past few weeks we have been answering letters that classes have been writing to us. Every week on Mondays, we have a meeting and it’s very exciting planning for all the upcoming events such as Book Fair, Book Week and National Simultaneous Story time.
Hi my name is Jarryd and I am in year 5.
I am thankful for being chosen as a Library Leader. It is so exciting to talk to other classes and it is fun. Hopefully I get chosen again next year. Ms Fowler is the best library teacher I have ever seen. Ms Curtin and Mrs Hall are very passionate and supporting too. Look forward to Book Week. More to come soon…
