Gala Day
I am thrilled to share the success of our recent Gala Day excursion, where our 5/6 students truly shone. It was an exciting day full of energy and teamwork during the competition. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the students who participated, as they demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship, and dedication throughout the day. Our students showed their resilience and commitment, and it was evident in the way they represented our school. There were many highlights across the day, with students excelling in various events and activities.
A special mention must go to our Boys and Girls Basketball teams, who both triumphed in their respective grand finals! Thank you also to the parent coaches and volunteers who also supported the teams and the event. To all of the students who participated in the Gala Day activities, you should all be incredibly proud of your efforts. It was wonderful to see our students supporting each other throughout the day.
100 Year Celebration Meeting
This year our school is celebrating our 100th Year!
We are holding a meeting for any parents, carers, and staff that would like to participate in our 100 Year committee
Meeting date and time: 24th March at 7:30 pm.
Please see the following link to join our online meeting.
We look forward to making this a wonderful event for our community.
Working Bee
Thank you to everyone that already signed up for our Working Bee. Unfortunately there is significant rain and thunderstorms planned for Sunday, so we have decided to reschedule the event.
We would still love to have your help on Sunday, 30th March, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM for a Working Bee to refresh our much-loved Frog Bog and Prep Discovery Area. These spaces provide wonderful opportunities for our students to explore, learn, and connect with nature, and with a little care, we can make them even better!
This is a great chance to come together as a school community, meet other families, and enjoy a morning of teamwork and fresh air. No special skills are needed—just a willingness to pitch in! If you have any gardening tools, gloves, or wheelbarrows, feel free to bring them along.
Children are welcome to attend under parent supervision, and we encourage everyone to come and be part of this rewarding project. Whether you can stay for half an hour or the full morning, every bit of help makes a difference.
Please join by signing the following link:
We truly appreciate your support and look forward to a fun and productive morning together!
NAPLAN
I am pleased to announce that our students have successfully completed their NAPLAN testing for this year. Over the course of the week, our students demonstrated great focus as they worked hard to complete these assessments. A number of students also participated in make-up testing, ensuring that everyone had the opportunity to complete their assessments.
It’s important to note that NAPLAN results are used to assess student progress and inform our school’s teaching practices. These assessments help us identify areas of strength and opportunities for further learning and development.
We commend all students for their efforts and congratulate them for their commitment throughout this process.
On Monday, 24th March we are having a House Colour Day. This is an initiative from our school captains.
Students are to wear the colour of their sport’s house - Turner: red, Power: yellow, Gatter: green, Wilson: blue.
They can wear black shorts/skirt with their PE top, or a T-shirt the colour of their house or a white top and add the colour with streamers or ribbons. Some students wear a tutu the colour of their house.
It will be a very colourful Assembly. This will be followed by a quick house meeting run by the captains.
This is also our School Photo catch up day. If your child was not at school on our actual School Photo day (11th March), there will be an opportunity for them to have their photos taken. If you would like to send along their school uniform, we will make sure they have time to change.
The JSC representatives are excited to host a Zentangle Pattern Bookmark activity for all students before the end of Term 1.
Using the Zentangle method—a relaxing and creative way to draw and colour structured patterns with simple shapes, like dots, lines, and curves—students can design their own unique bookmarks or colour a Zentagle design. An Easter-themed bookmark option will also be available.
Activity Dates:
Prep, Year 1 & 2 – Friday, 21st April at 1:00 PM
Year 3 & 4 – Friday, 28th April at 1:00 PM
Year 5 & 6 – Thursday, 27th April at 1:30 PM
Join the JSC representatives in Mrs. Freene’s classroom and get creative!
