District and Divisional Swimming Carnivals
District Swimming: Warrandyte Region: Thursday 27th February.
Tintern Swimming pool.
Oscar B, Annabelle V, Heidi R, Cooper R, Hannah D and Kieren H/ F represented Marlborough PS at the District Swimming Carnival. The competition was fierce, and all our students swam strongly and proudly for Marlborough P.S. in 2 individual events and 2 relays. We won in the Freestyle 4 x 50m open relay and the medley relay. Even though the students were all different ages and were competing in the open team.
Speaking of awesome achievements, check these results out for our District Swimming Competition.
1st in open medley relay (Kieren, Annabelle, Hannah, Heidi)
3rd in under 11 freestyle (Annabelle)
1st (Hannah) and 2nd (Heidi) under 12 freestyle
1st Hannah breaststroke under 12
1st Annabelle breaststroke under 11
1st (Cooper) and 2nd (Oscar) under 12 freestyle
1st (Kieren) and 2nd (Cooper) under 12 backstroke
1st in freestyle relay (Cooper, Annabelle, Oscar and Heidi)
On Monday March 3rd all the above students competed at Divisional Swimming at Aquanation. They all swam so well considering it is a huge jump from District to Divisional Events. It was a tough field but a really gusty effort by our students. No medals but in most races our students were finishing in the middle of the field so it was a fantastic effort all around. Thank you to the students for competing and their parents who went with their children to support their achievements. An extra big thank you to Erin V for being the Team Leader in charge of the Marlborough Team at the District Carnival and Robyn R who was in charge of Divisional Competition.
