From Mr Ridgway

Thank you to outgoing School Councillors
On behalf of the School Council and the entire school community, I extend my gratitude to Rob McNaught, Richard Van Der Sprenkel and Amanda Price for their contributions to our School Council. Your commitment, effort, and support have played a crucial role in ensuring our school continues to be the best it can be. Thank you for your service and for being such an integral part of our school community.
Welcome to our new and continuing School Councillors
Welcome to our new and returning School Councillors
We are pleased to welcome Melinda Morgan, David Little, and Rhian Godwin to our School Council. I know they will all bring a unique set of skills, expertise and valuable insights to the important work of the School Council. I would also like to acknowledge that Hayley Rogers will be continuing on the School Council. Her contribution has been immense over the past several years, and I look forward to her continued engagement in our council.
Harmony/Cultural Diversity Week
At Cheltenham East Primary School, the celebration and appreciation of cultural diversity is integral to our community. Multiculturalism is a core part of the Victorian identity, our character, and our way of life. Our state is home to people who speak 290 languages and have 314 different ancestries. It's also a place where anyone can contribute and belong. Reflecting this rich cultural tapestry, our school embraces and celebrates the diverse backgrounds of our students, staff, and families.
The 2025 theme, 'Embrace the Journey, Shape Our Future', highlights the unique and shared cultural journeys that define our diverse communities, encouraging us to honour our own cultural stories and those of others, building understanding, belonging, and connection. This theme will guide some of the learning activities in our classrooms throughout the week. We are committed to ensuring that we continue to promote an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and respected.
By engaging our students in an appreciation for different cultures, we prepare them to thrive in a global society and contribute positively to our multicultural world.

CEPS Anzac Day Assembly
We are honoured to invite you to our upcoming CEPS ANZAC Ceremony, which will take place on Thursday, April 24th, from 3:00-3:15pm. This important event is a time for our school community to come together to remember and pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.
We are especially excited to welcome Captain Andrew Newman from the Australian Defence Force who will join us for this special occasion.
The ceremony will include:
- Acknowledgment of Country

We look forward to seeing you there and sharing this important occasion with our school community.
