Junior School Update

What a fun-filled term it has been in the Junior School!  As the days unfolded, our vibrant Junior School was abuzz with our remarkable students' boundless energy and enthusiasm. They have embraced every opportunity within the classroom, from tackling the challenges of upcoming CATs to delving passionately into a wide array of extra-curricular activities.  The dedication and commitment displayed by our junior students have been truly commendable, reflecting their eagerness to learn and grow.  As we transition into the next phase of our academic journey, we find ourselves beaming with pride at the accomplishments of these young achievers, and we are optimistic that their momentum will carry them through the upcoming Term 4.

Year 7 Green Chronicles Challenge: Nurturing Eco-Friendly Habits

Throughout this term, our Year 7 students embraced a remarkable challenge known as "Be a Greenie." The objective?  To accumulate as many green chronicles as possible.  These green chronicles symbolize our students' commitment to adopting sustainable practices and making eco-friendly choices in their daily lives.

As each week unfolded, the excitement grew.  At the beginning of every week, Ms Maxwell had the pleasure of announcing the class that had accumulated the highest number of green chronicles in the preceding week.  The enthusiasm was infectious as students eagerly waited to hear who would be crowned the "Greenies of the Week."

In the initial week of the challenge, the impressive 7Z class set the bar high with a total of 28 green chronicles.  Week after week, the competition intensified, and the dedication of our students remained unwavering.

Week after week, various classes demonstrated their commitment to sustainability.  Notably, 7D stood out in week two with another 28 green chronicles, solidifying their dedication. The following weeks showcased a diverse array of winning classes, including 7J, 7C, 7E, 7B, 7I, and 7F.  Each victory was met with well-deserved recognition and celebration.

Year 8's "Green Chronnie Warriors": A Journey of Positive Choices

Meanwhile, in Year 8, Ms. Ng led our students on a journey towards becoming "Green Chronnie Warriors."  The goal remained consistent: to accumulate green chronicles through positive choices and sustainable actions.

With each passing week, the leaderboard showcased the remarkable progress of our Year 8 students.  Week after week, different classes demonstrated their commitment to the cause. In Week 3, 8A took the lead, closely followed by 8B.  The following weeks painted a consistent picture of dedication, with 8A maintaining their lead, supported by their counterparts in 8E, 8I, and 8F.

A special mention goes to the spirited 8A class, whose impressive tally of 46 entries in a single week showcased their collective determination and dedication.  It was clear that the "Green Chronnie Warriors" were not just passively participating; they were actively striving to make a difference.

It's heartening to witness the enthusiasm and passion with which our students embrace these challenges, and I can't wait to see the lasting impact of their efforts.  The "Greenies" and "Green Chronnie Warriors" have set a precedent for responsible and active participation in the classroom.

Cyber Safety –

Bridging the gap between the virtual and real world, our school took a significant stride in ensuring the safety of our students in the digital age.  In a dynamic Week 8, Year 7 and 8 students engaged in an immersive Cyber Safety session, carefully designed by the experts at ySafe.  It was a fantastic session with invaluable insights, unveiling the secrets to responsible online conduct and the art of crafting a remarkable digital identity.  The session brought forward tips and stark glimpses into the repercussions of thoughtless actions. I thank everyone for their participation.

IT Workshop for new and EAL families

On 25th of August, we were grateful to have new and EAL families attend our IT parent workshop. The workshop aimed to help parents to use Compass.

We had an amazing turnout and received overwhelming positive feedback from the community.  We would like to thank our IT team, Mr. Jason Yong, Mr. Ravin Arachchige and Ms. Tang, for supporting the Junior School Team to deliver this workshop.  Parents learnt how to input absent notes, comprehend learning tasks and reports, consent and pay for events, email teachers and book parent-teacher conferences.

We sincerely appreciated all the efforts of our Junior School team. Mr. Barca and Ms. Maxwell warmly welcomed the parents.  Ms. Ng organised the event and led the English presentation.  Ms. Tibb and Ms. Zeng helped with the Chinese families.  Thank you to our community for the support. We hope to continue to work together to make a better learning environment for our students!
