How to support your child’s literacy development at home
- let your child see you read for pleasure and share your enjoyment of the text with your child
- read aloud daily to your child, tell them what you are seeing in your mind, what you are predicting, what you are thinking, and the ideas you are having about characters and the story
- help your child find a favourite reading and writing spot in your home
- have materials like paper, pencils and plenty of books nearby
- practice reading the ‘tricky words’

We are learning to:
- hear and say the sounds /kw/, /ee/ and /z/
- recognise that two letters making one sound are called digraphs:

- ‘zz’ makes the sound /z/
- read tricky words: go, so, no, this, then
- write a simple sentence containing a subject and a verb
- identify the subject and verb in a simple sentence
