Principal's Report
Scoresby Happenings
This edition of our newsletter highlights the many events and activities that have taken place over the previous three weeks. Scoresby Secondary College’s purpose is to provide a safe, supportive and rigorous learning environment that nurtures the whole person so that every child has the opportunity to be their brilliant best. It is through the multitude of activities on offer whether it be excursions, careers programs, hearing from expert presenters, lunchtime activities, international visits or participating in sport that so many additional highly sought after employability skills are developed.
One of the highlights is when we come together as a whole college. At our most recent assembly we focussed on student success and celebrated the achievements of individuals and the college community after our excellent NAPLAN results.
Our college has faced some disruptions due to staff absences including myself as the Principal being hospitalised with influenza. The leadership team under the guidance of Mr Ayman Youssef and staff have ensured that student learning, engagement, and wellbeing have been maintained throughout this time. It is the prior hard work by staff in setting up strong teaching and learning foundations that even with teacher absences and shortages our students' education is not being compromised.
Homework club and Senior School study sessions have been able to continue thanks to the extraordinary lengths staff are going to to support student success.
