This week in Writing we have been learning about the text features in an Information Report.


VOCABULARY

Information Report: A type of writing that gives you real facts. 

Features: The different parts of a text For example, Title, Heading, Diagram, Glossary, etc.

Diagram: A labeled picture that shows the parts of an animal/object.


ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Your child can choose a topic (such as an animal) and write a factual sentence about it. Encourage your child to draw a detailed diagram about their chosen animal. 

 

 

Remind your child to use their writing strategies (stretching out the sounds, finger spaces, magic 100 Words and drawing a relevant picture). For example, Pigs like mud. Pigs have 4 legs. Pigs can be pink.
