大家好!

Pan Lao Shi and Wang Lao Shi can’t believe that we are already in Week Four! We have loved celebrating Chinese New Year with you all these past four weeks and were so excited for our final big celebration today, The Lantern Festival! This week the whole school created a lantern to symbolise good fortune and feature at today's assembly. The Lantern Festival is the closing festival of Chinese New Year and promotes reconciliation, peace, and forgiveness to start the year fresh.

Students in Foundation to Year Two have been creating lantern and dragon mask designs to celebrate the year of the dragon. Students have also drawn their family reunion dinner having watched videos on different traditions and the importance of Chinese New Year. In Years Three to Six students have researched further into traditions and celebrations surrounding Chinese New Year. Students have also created more complex lanterns to celebrate the lantern festival.

We have also continued with Chinese Character and Word Study and have loved seeing the connections made between Chinese characters, pinyin and tones.

Wishing you all a lovely Lantern Festival!

谢谢
