Curiosity and Discovery in Year One

This week in Year One we started our new How We Express Ourselves unit of inquiry, Curiosity Leads to Discovery. In this unit, students will become ‘Imagineers’ by stepping into the world of wonderings and discoveries. This week students began exploring the central idea through a range of provocations including investigating texture and objects in the natural world and engaging in exploratory play using man-made materials. So much fun has already been had!

As we move further into the unit, students will have the opportunity to explore their own interests, develop their questioning skills, investigate their wonderings through hands-on learning and collaboration, and finally share and reflect on all of this with others.

We can’t wait to see where curiosity takes our inquisitive learners and what we discover along the way!
