Principal Post
Dear Families,
Today is Ash Wednesday. In the Christian tradition it marks the beginning of Lent. These next 40 days challenge us to pause, examine our lives, repent and turn back to God. We are reminded that we are able to do this through prayer, fasting and donating. It prepares us for the transformational event of Easter.
Today our students received the ashes in Level Liturgies as part of a Lenten prayer.
There is no power and damage in the church but there will be an Ash Wednesday Mass at 7pm in the Parish HALL
Tuesdays Storm
From all reports to date, everyone in our community is safe after yesterdays storms. We understand that there are many power outages and some damage to houses. We certainly hope that you and your extended families are ok.
Our school has some trees down and some minor water damage. We are working through the clean up today and across the coming week including the debris in St Johns Way. Today we were blessed to have the support of Andre our Maintenance contractor cleaning up within our school grounds and building.
However within the Parish Carpark the tree near the hill has fallen and has also taken out shade sails. No one in the school community is to access this area, until further notice. Please keep well away. We will be be fixing up St Johns Way debris as soon as possible.
Baby News - How exciting!!
We congratulate our secretary Leyla and her husband Matthew on their announcement of the birth of their baby due in July! We look forward to meeting their new bundle of joy!

John Hannah House Intergenerational Program
On Monday 5-6A met for the first time this year with the residents. It was lovely to hear and begin reconnecting with the residents. The students shared stories and created a collage for what they are grateful. We look forward to seeing them again in a fortnight. Each class will be timetabled to meet the residents.
Opening School Mass
It was wonderful to see so many parents and families join us at our Opening School Mass.
It was very fitting to welcome those new to the SJV community; new students and staff.
We were all so proud of our Year 6 Leaders and Captains who were presented with their badges. They have begun the year as great role models for other students within the Community. We congratulate all these these students and wish our Captains every success in their role.
Our staff were commissioned in our important task of educating our students. We continue to work in partnership in our educational endeavors and appreciate the support you offer us
