We would like to formally welcome Miss Erin Finlay to the Music team. Miss Finlay has been a part of the Music and Performing Arts team since Term 4 2023, taking the LSL role for Mr Cosentino. We are looking forward to having her now on our permanent staff.
With this come sad news, of us seeing the wonderful, passionate, and energetic, Mrs King leaving our team, as she relocated for a new adventure in the Snowy Mountains. We all would like to thank Mrs Jill King for her work at Pittwater House.
Over the Break!
We always love hearing about the positive ways in which our students and staff enrich the local community, so a hearty thank you goes out to College students Tiana, Yarra, Adele, Ella, Cait and Imogen and staff members Mr Abraham, Mrs Colless and Ms Pells, who volunteered time during their holidays to sing carols at the War Vets for their Christmas Celebration on 20 December. The residents were thrilled, and it looks like this will be an initiative that will continue for years to come!
Welcome back Mr Cos!
During Term 4 2023, Mr David Cosentino, while on Long Service Leave, enjoyed some time in Chicago for The Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference. Whilst there, he participated in an array of clinics and exhibits, and enjoyed performances by international music and teaching icons.
He also visited Wilmette Junior High School and New Trier High School District and was impressed by their music education as well as their band, musical and choir direction.
In addition to the Clinic, he was able to see a number of shows, including the world premiere season of Boop! The Musical.
His personal highlight from the trip was performing in the 50th annual 'Tuba Christmas', as one of hundreds of tuba players, and the only Australian, playing holiday tunes in Palmer House. During this he was interviewed by the Chicago SunTimes.
This trip gave Mr Cosentino, some great insights and ideas that he will bring back into the thriving Performing Arts and Music programs here at Pittwater House.
