Principal's Message

Dear Holy Family Parents and Carers,

Kindergarten Transition Day

It gives me great pleasure to share some reflections on our Kindergarten Transition Day that brought joy and excitement to Holy Family – the visit of our new Kindergarten students to their "Big School."

The visit began with a warm welcome from our very eager Senior buddies and dedicated teachers and staff, who guided the students into the classrooms. It was a delight to watch their eager faces light up with curiosity and enthusiasm. I couldn't help but be reminded of the boundless potential that lies within each child.

Our Senior students and Kindy teachers went above and beyond to create an environment that encouraged the children to ask questions, interact with one another, and start building the foundations of lifelong friendships. I believe the children and their buddies had a wonderful morning.

I was fortunate to be in MacKillop Hall for the parent session. I must admit the atmosphere was charged with anticipation and positivity as parents gathered to learn more about Holy Family, its values, and the exciting journey their children are about to embark on. It was fantastic to see all parents exchanging ideas on parenting and just enjoying being together on this very special day.

Whenever we have any event, we always stop and reflect on two questions:

  1. "What went well...." and 2. "Even better if ...."

I believe there were several key factors that contributed to the success of the morning.

  • Ryan from Catholic Care sharing his experiences of out of school hours care
  • Anne Gray - leading us in prayer and spiritual nourishment
  • Sam Edwards' encouraging and genuine explanation of Home Reading
  • Our amazing school leaders- Atrina, Kyle, Olivia and Annabelle who shared their love of Holy Family. We are going to miss them very much when they leave Holy Family at the end of the year.
  •  The support from our wonderful parents - Olwyn Connolly our P&F president and Anna Roberts, 2024 lead class parent with their encouragement and suggestions on the importance of parent engagement into our community. We are so lucky to have such generous, supportive parents.

I believe, the personal connections established between teachers, students and parents have laid the foundation for a strong partnership that will undoubtedly benefit our students throughout their time at Holy Family. The success of our Kindergarten Transition morning was a testament to the strong sense of community that defines our school. Thank you to everyone involved for making this event a resounding success.

God Bless you and your families.
