We are very proud to share our most recent whole school data that we have received from the DET. The report indicates a school's performance across multiple domains, including NAPLAN , student attendance, student attitude to school and school climate. In 2024, and for the first time for HEPS, we have been identified as performing at a level of influence. This indicates that we are performing at a high to very high level across most domains. This level is indicative of the level of work and committment that our HEPS staff bring each day to their role at HEPS. We have focussed heavily on improving our own practice, with professional learning as a part of our twice weekly routine. The results also acknowledge that HEPS has a culture of care, support and connection between staff, students and parents.  We recognise the importance of our parent community in working in partnership with the school to support the social/emotional and academic development of all students.  Thank you to all for making HEPS a great place for children to thrive and grow.

Last week our Year 5 students went off on their camp to Ferngully Lodge in Healesville. The discussions with the children let me know they had a fantastic time, with lots of fun had on all activities. Another highlight for the children was the camp food. I hear that it was plentiful and delicious.

This week our Year 6 cohort are heading to camp at Waratah Bay. This is a new camp for HEPS, and we are excited that the students are able to experience learning how to surf. I am looking forward to heading there for the day on Thursday to join in the fun with them.

We are also busy planning for other school experiences with, the Level 1 students on an excursion to Como house, four students going with Mrs Holmes and Mrs Whitfield to the Botanic Gardens to receive a gardening grant that has been approved for HEPS, the junior athletics day will now take place on the 28th November and the Twilight Concert on the 11th December.

As we head toward the end of year school break, I would like to remind parents that we have TeamKids available for care during the school holiday period should you need care for your children. I also strongly encourage parents to make use of this service during school weeks. We have noticed a number of students arriving very early at school. There is no supervision of students before 8:45am or after 3:45pm. Students in the yard outside of these times are essentially in an supervised public place that is used by adults who are not part of or known to our HEPS community.

Birthday celebrations are an excting part of a child's life. We understand that they like to share and celebrate with their peers. If you choose to send something for your child to share we ask that this is small and only one item. This both acknowledges your child and respects other parents choice in the amount of sugary foods their children eat.

Thank you for your continued support of HEPS.
