Remembrance Day
It is 104 years since the ending of World War I and Remembrance Day is approaching quickly on Saturday 11th November.
The poppies from the local RSL have arrived at the school. To support the RSL to raise much-needed funds for their valuable welfare work, supporting veterans and their families, the Junior School Council Representatives have been selling poppies in classrooms this week.
Tomorrow (Friday) is the last day that Junior School Council Representatives will be selling poppies in classrooms. They will be visiting the Grade 3 and 4 classrooms at 9am.
Poppies are also available to purchase at the office.
Poppies are $2 and $5. There are also wristbands for $3, key chains for $4 and pens for $5.
Kindness Day - Tuesday 14th November
On Tuesday the 14th of November we will be celebrating World Kindess Day!
World Kindness Day is a global day that promotes the importance of being kind to each other, to yourself, and to the world. If every Australian performed an act of kindness on World Kindness Day, we would have 25 million acts of kindness in a single day. The possibilities are endless – together let’s make Australia kinder.
Below, the poster outlines more than 50 ways that we can be kind!
To celebrate the day, the Junior School Council have decided to raise money for new sports equipment. It is something they felt very passionate about!
Depending on how much is raised, the students would love to raise enough money for a new set of soccer goals, t-ball stands, basketball nets or even a new cricket pitch that is needing a much-needed repair!
On the day it is a free dress day and the theme is dress up in your favourite sport or hobby!
So come to school in comfy dress and remember to bring a gold coin donation to raise money for new Sports Equipment for the school!
Warm regards,
Mrs Tainsh and Mrs Owens on behalf of the JSC
