A note from Mr Jackson

TheirCare End of Year Hours

TheirCare will not be operating a service on the Thursday nor Friday of the final week of school. The vacation care program will be available in January. A reminder that our enrolled Preps for 2024 are provided with the opportunity to attend during the break.

Fair Organisation

Thanks to all who have raised their hands and volunteered to be a part of the Old School Fair. Every hand makes a difference and you are invited to add your details at https://signup.zone/rosanna-ps-fair.

There is a lot to keep track of in the lead up to the Fair. Make sure that you have checked out the Silent Auction and made a bid. I encourage you to come prepared with the pre purchased ride ticket to ensure all runs smoothly on the day.

Most importantly, make sure that you stay up to date by enabling notifications on Compass on your mobile device and visit and like our event on Facebook!

Working Bee Saturday 11 November

We have a couple of jobs to do this coming Saturday 11 November at the Working Bee. These include some pruning around the bushes on the upper site, blowing of the entire site, clearing of drains, whipper-snippering of lawns plus a few more challenges. 5m3 of soil is piled high on the oval ready to spread on the old softball diamond.  We hope to do a final spruce up of the site to ensure it is well presented over the coming Fair.

Final Week Dates

During the final week of school,  a number of classes will be disrupted due to recarpeting happening in the southern end of the Admin Building. This will effect the staffroom, first aid room, 12K and 12W as well as the adult and all gendered toilets. Further information on the changes will be shared closer to the final week.

Monday 18 December – Big Day In

We look forward to hosting a fun day with the energy of Kaboom Sports in the morning sessions. This is a chance to play a diverse range of physical activities that are not only fun but support students development. It will be followed at 11:30am with the ‘Meet Your Teacher’ session. We hope to provide a space where students will be able to meet their 2024 cohort and can begin to get to know their 2024 teacher. The afternoon is a chance to chill and watch a movie. Students will be eager to enjoy the special lunch prepared by the canteen.  Consent forms will be available shortly.

Tuesday 19 December – Express Yourself

Students have organised an ‘Express Yourself’ Day. This idea came through the student suggestion box coordinated by the JSC. It’s an opportunity for students to slip out of their uniform and into clothing that lets them be themselves!

Wednesday 20 December – Final Day

This will be a final tidy up of the school prior to 2024. The final Assembly will be held at 12:45pm. Our new student leadership will be introduced, families farewelled and the year will be wrapped up.

Preparing All Students for Transition

From Prep through to Primary, we welcome tomorrow our 2024 Preps and their parents. This will be another wonderful morning of getting to know the school by parents and future students. These orientation days are a way to ease the transition into the new primary setting.

Transitioning through the school, three orientation sessions for students within the school are planned. Again, this is a way to provide a supportive framework to ease anxieties and answer questions. These dates are Monday 20 November, Tuesday 5 December and ‘Meet the Teacher’ Day during the final week of term on Monday 18 December.

Year 6 to Year 7 Transition. The Year 6 to 7 transition begins with their celebratory graduation on Thursday 14 December. Year 6 students will be visiting Luna Park on 7 December as a last excursion of their life at primary school. Individual secondary schools plan their orientation day but most government schools align it to Tuesday 12 December.

Volunteers Thankyou Morning Tea

Staff are eager to express their gratitude to all those who have snipped, sprayed, listened, drilled, read, mopped, swept, mowed, poured, typed, promoted, laminated, checked, ticked, organised, cooked, and much more for our community. All our volunteers are invited to join us for a morning tea spread put on by our teaching and educational support staff on Wednesday 13 December between 11:00am and 11:30am.

Tawny Update

It seems our resident Tawny Frogmouth family have disappeared. Our two juveniles have fledged. They were spotted over the weekend in the branches of the tree outside the Chandler Hall. We will no doubt spot them coming and going over the coming days!
