PERFORMING ARTS NEWS

The choir has had a great start to the year already. So many new people have come to see if choir is right for them, and we encourage more people to come and check it out. We're passionate about singing and improving our techniques to make one beautiful sound together.

At the moment we're working on a very challenging piece of music called a Madrigal, which is a type of song from hundreds of years ago. We've already learned the hardest part and are getting ready to add the next. I would love a huge number of passionate singers in my team to make an awesome choir.

We will reset attendance at the beginning of Term 2, and I will ask the singers to sign a Term 2 & 3 commitment that promises they will attend choir on a Thursday lunch if they are present at school. This is to prepare for our performance of the Madrigal as part of the whole-school performance.

If you've thought about coming to choir before, now's the time! Join us as we prepare for our very special performance this year. Students from Grade 1 to 6 are welcome, and we even get house points for our hard work.

I'm really excited about performing the most difficult piece we've ever attempted, and I'd love your child to join us. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to ask.

We practise at Thursday lunchtimes in the Performing Arts room. We hope to see you there!
