INNOVATION PROGRAMS

Glen Waverley Primary School is incredibly proud to offer students additional programs to further enhance and facilitate rich and engaging learning. These programs, inclusive of English, Mathematics, Podcasting, Drama, Animation, Gaming, Radio Committee, Film, Languages, Art, Sport, Music, VSSS Mass Dance, Virtual Design and STEAM, have enabled our students to excel beyond the scope of their classroom environment, and apply their learning to new and different situations.

As a school that places students at the centre of everything we do, we aim to educate students about the world and their place in it, thus developing global citizens through the development of skills, attitudes and attributes that contribute to our ever-changing world. This includes setting our students up for the realities of their future world, including future jobs which will think about and utilise technologies in a manner that is vastly different to our current reality.

To support this, Innovation classes extend students at their zone of proximal development through the use of technology, hands on learning tasks and investigation that feeds their interests and curiosities.

So far, our Innovation classes have had a very successful start, and we look forward to providing further innovation opportunities to students across the school as the year progresses.

We look forward to sharing some of the children’s learning experiences in future newsletter articles.
