Mental Health & Wellbeing Students/Parents/Carers Support

Articles, Videos & Resources

OT SERVICES@RPS

In light of recent mental health funds allocated to our school, we have decided to employ an Occupational Therapist, Jade Sacker, from Steps OTKids, to work directly with our students and teachers. Jade brings a wealth of experience and expertise in occupational therapy, and we believe her presence will greatly benefit our school community.

As part of our efforts to ensure the well-being and development of our students, we are seeking your consent via COMPASS to allow Jade to enter our classroom spaces, interact with students, and build familiarity.

Please note that this interaction will solely involve a chat and nothing else. If we identify a student who may require further support beyond general interaction, we will reach out to you for additional permission for therapy services.

Jade will be involved in small group and individual student work, focusing on areas such as sensory processing, social skills, fine motor skills, visual perception, and self-regulation. If we feel that a student may benefit from additional support beyond what Jade can provide within the school setting, we will work closely with you to explore appropriate options.

We encourage you to take the time to read Jade's bio and reach out to Mrs. Rose for additional information tailored to your child's needs. While we recognise the value of individualised support provided by external providers or Steps OT Kids, it's important to note that school-based services are different and cannot be offered on an ongoing basis.

Thank you for your ongoing support and collaboration as we strive to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all our students. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.
