Student Leadership

STUDENT LEADERSHIP: NURTURING TOMORROW'S LEADERS AR RPS

At Ripponlea, we believe in fostering more than just academic excellence; we strive to cultivate leadership qualities in every student. As we embark on this journey of education, we must equip our students with the skills and mindset necessary to navigate the complexities of the world beyond our school gates.

Leadership is not merely about holding a badge or a title; it's about embodying responsibility, empathy, and integrity in every action, whether big or small. We take pride in providing our students with opportunities to deeply understand these leadership skills, recognising that leadership manifests in myriad forms, transcending traditional roles and hierarchies.

At Ripponlea, we embrace the philosophy that every student has the potential to lead, regardless of age, grade, or designation. From the youngest learners to the graduating seniors, each individual plays a vital role in shaping the fabric of our school community. Whether it's through organising events, supporting peers, or voicing concerns, our students learn that leadership is not bound by age or authority but by initiative and conviction.

Next week they have a full-day workshop delivering high-energy, high-impact training, which calls upon every student to contribute through their influence, strengths, teamwork and actions. It is the next step along the leadership pathway for our students, providing a deeper exploration of the themes we embedded through the ASPIRE HIGHER program last year.

SESSION 1- THE POWER OF INFLUENCE- What is influence? What difference can I make?

SESSION 2- T.E.A.M.S- Team building session with a focus on building synergy, communication and working together.

SESSION 3- BATTLE OF THE HOUSES- Action-packed challenge in house groups (or in class groups).

Leadership development is part of the Victorian curriculum - Personal and Social Capabilities framework.

Hi, my name is Eva, your 2024 Bemin House captain.

On Tuesday the 13th of February was the swimming carnival. Bemin had a tough day at the swimming carnival, but we managed to win!
