Parents and Friends Club

Welcome back from the Parents & Friends Club! We hope you are all settling into the new school year. 

We would like to welcome all the new school families to OGPS! 

As always, we have a full calendar of events for 2024! We are jumping right in with our Cinema night on the 15th March proudly sponsored by Groove Cafe. 

Tickets are available for purchase now at the office or on Flexischools.

We have locked in the Lions Club for a sausage sizzle and will have some popcorn and ice creams for sale on the night. We will also have 3-4 food vans to provide you dinner, but feel free to bring your own picnic. This is an alcohol free event. 

Make sure to pack your picnic blanket, chairs and something warm to snuggle in while settling down to watch the movie. We estimate that the movie will kick off about 7:30 - 8pm (at dusk) and will finish up about 9:30pm. 

Sponsorship Call Out

It’s hard to express in words our gratitude for all the support, donations and positive energy channelled to Ocean Grove Primary last year. With the help and generosity of our 2023 Sponsors, we were able to raise just over $40,000 for the school as well as host some fantastic community events, such as our outdoor cinema night, 2 wildly successful social nights, the Art Show and Hive Gallery and the all famous Apple Fair. We hope you were able to come along and enjoy some fun with us!

Designs are well underway for the outdoor learning space for students, which will be built this year thanks to our fundraising efforts in 2023. We have also been able to complete some much needed concreting at one of our main entrances on Draper St, making access much easier. 

With a record number of Prep enrolments this year, our school community is growing and many new families are eager to connect with each other and local businesses. You will notice it is a little different from last year, in that the Apple Fair doesn’t feature on our 2024 calendar of events. The event in October 2023 was a huge hit, and widely acknowledged as the ‘best one yet.’ Based on feedback from the school community the event will move back to the traditional date of March, which is only a month away. Therefore, we will spend this year planning for bigger and better things and look forward to the next Apple Fair in March of 2025.

There’s never a dull moment at OGPS, and we have an action-packed, colourful, fun and rewarding year ahead for our students who have all returned from holidays with huge smiles on their faces. Thank you again for being part of the village that raises our children to be healthy and happy learners and sets them up for life with memorable primary school years.
