Farm Garden News

Well, from ever so hot to ever so wet this week in the garden. A bit of rain dancing was enjoyed by the children and our plants. Thanks for the donated yoghurt buckets: they’re super useful. We can definitely do with some more.

Garden Working Bee Hot Compost

Understandably, the turn out on such a hot day wasn’t fabulous, but we did manage to make a new hot compost. Thanks Dan! We’ll definitely do some work this term identifying the microorganisms that make up our dynamic soil food web world.

Poultry

We’re delighted to welcome four new girls to our henhouse. There’s so much more activity in the deep litter run these days where they’re processing our garden materials very quickly. Many children are missing the duck we had, so we might have to look out for another. We’re also beginning work on a redesign of the henhouse.
