Instrumental Music News 

The Instrumental Music lessons have begun and our ensemble rehearsals (apart from Rookie Band, Junior Drum Club and Jarrah Strings which will commence after year 7 camp) have started rehearsals. 

All groups have started working on this year's repertoire and are setting their sights on our Autumn Concert to be held in May. The Marching Band are sounding fantastic and are gearing up for this term's Athletics carnival. We can't wait to hear them on the day!

If any students who are enrolled in the music program and have not yet been assigned an ensemble group, please come and see Mr. Mizzi in the music office. 

The Music Program 2024

We would like to express our enthusiasm about this year's cohort. We can proudly announce that we currently have our largest enrolment ever on record. Our instrumental team are currently taking 321 music lessons and 16 ensemble rehearsals throughout each week. Currently, our Guitar, Bass, Percussion programs are full and have a waiting list. We still have a couple of spots for students to learn strings, woodwind and brass. 

If you are interested in being involved, please call the music centre on 8872 6369 to secure your child's lesson.  

Music Support Group

We are looking for parents/guardians who are interested in assisting the music program with the running of events and fundraisers for our program. Instrumental Music does not receive any extra funding and relies heavily on the work of our Music Support Group to raise much needed funds. In the recent past, the Music Support Group has assisted us to purchase a grand piano for the Music Centre, two double basses and a new euphonium for students to use. As well as various other music instruments and their maintenance and repairs. 

In Terms 2 and 3 we run a weekly sausage sizzle at recess to help raise money towards these things. If you are available and interested in giving an hour of your time throughout the term, we would highly value your contribution. Please get in touch with Mr. Mizzi in the Music Centre to learn more.
